Identity & Intention

Publication Design, Re-branding & Editing

The objective for this project was to take an article from a conceptually different magazine publication, then re-design it with the aesthetic detail and qualities of a diversely opposing publication. I was required to typographically re-set the type and create a compositionally sound layout that was both visually appealing as well as an accurate design representation it was being designed for.

I selected an article from The New Yorker magazine, “Identity and Intention,” and redesigned the editorial in the fashion of Uppercase Magazine. The article had no imagery to work with and it was considerably longer than most publications found in Uppercase. To solve those challenges,  additional research to find high resolution imagery from a single photographer was required along with special attention to typography and layout adjustments.
